On Friday February 10th 2017 the class VC of the High School Liceo Salvatore Cantone – address of Human Science – entered the everyday life of the American Military Base in Gricignano d’Aversa for an interdisciplinary experience with the aim to be American students for one day.
Surprised for the huge structure, among big and really well cultivated gardens, and in a structure which satisfies all the needs, protected by an excellent military command, the girls of Liceo Cantone started their new adventure.
When inside, the students were informed about the activities and were accompanied by their tutors, called sponsors. Each student had the chance to visit several courses of the school.
The classrooms are very big, decorated and personalized by the holding course teacher who creates in this way a nice and welcoming atmosphere which overcomes the barriers between teachers and students.
The wardrobes along the wide corridors give the opportunity to all the students to save their school material.
School basic compulsory activities are four disciplines (English, maths, history and science) and are combined to other optional courses all based on American practicism very different from the theory of the italian school. These characteristics if put together –as Mrs P says - constitute the ideal school system.
What impressed the students of Liceo Cantone is the care and the attention to not loose the school traditions as the final prom, the launching of the cap after the degree and the realisation of the yearbook of the school career.
